Kate Middleton's wedding to Prince William

Kate Middleton
 Prince William and Kate Middleton
Middleton; born 9 January 1982) is the wife of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, who is second in line to the thrones of the sixteen Commonwealth realms (after his father Charles, Prince of Wales). Through marriage, she is also the current holder of the titles Countess of Strathearn and Baroness Carrickfergus.

Prince William and Catherine Middleton became engaged in October 2010 in Kenya, East Africa, during a 10-day trip to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy to celebrate William passing his RAF helicopter search and rescue course. Clarence House announced the engagement on 16 November 2010. The couple married in Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011, with the day declared a bank holiday in the United Kingdom. The wedding was watched by a global television audience of over two billion people.

iPhone data collection

The iPhone continues to store location data even when location services are disabled, contrary to Apple’s previous claims.
The Wall Street Journal did independent testing on an iPhone and found that even after turning off location services, the device was still collecting information on nearby cell towers and Wi-Fi access points.
This discovery challenges some of Apple’s claims. As Wired.com reported last week, the company explained in a detailed letter last year that it deliberately collects geodata to store in a comprehensive location database to improve location services. In the letter, Apple noted that customers can disable location-data collection by turning off Location Services in the settings menu.
“Apple is not harvesting this data from your device,” wrote Levinson. “This is data on the device that you as the customer purchased and unless they can show concrete evidence supporting this claim – network traffic analysis of connections to Apple servers — I rebut this claim in full. Through my research in this field and all traffic analysis I have performed, not once have I seen this data traverse a network.”
So the big question is why is the data there in the first place? According to Levinson, it’s used by the apps on your iPhone and iPad. Apps like Maps, Camera and even Twitter uses location services.
Levinson said the file has been on the iPhone as long as location services has been available. In iOS 4 it just changed location.
“I understand that Mr. Allan and Mr. Warden are valued researchers for O’Reilly, but they have completely missed the boat on this one,” said Levinson. “In the spirit of academia, due diligence is a must to determine who else has done such research. Mr. Allan, Mr. Warden, and O’Reilly have overlooked and failed to cite an entire area of research that has already been done on this subject and claimed full authorship of it.”
You and Your Applications may not collect, use, or disclose to any third party, user or device data without prior user consent, and then only under the following conditions:
  • "The collection, use or disclosure is necessary in order to provide a service or function that is directly relevant to the use of the Application. For example, without Apple's prior written consent, You may not use third party analytics software in Your Application to collect and send device data to a third party for aggregation, processing, or analysis.
  • "The collection, use or disclosure is for the purpose of serving advertising to Your Application; is provided to an independent advertising service provider whose primary business is serving mobile ads (for example, an advertising service provider owned by or affiliated with a developer or distributor of mobile devices, mobile operating systems or development environments other than Apple would not qualify as independent); and the disclosure is limited to UDID, user location data, and other data specifically designated by Apple as available for advertising purposes."
The revised developer agreement could pose enormous challenges for mobile advertising networks like AdMob, recently acquired by Apple rival Google for $750 million. The updated language appears to suggest companies like AdMob will be unable to continue sharing advertising analytics data with marketers, significantly undermining the value of its ad services. Independent mobile ad firms like Millennial Media and Greystripe would appear to be unaffected by the license revision, although the agreement suggests they must secure Apple's consent to continue collecting app data.

Paula Abdul is an American recording artist, dancer

Paula Abdul
Paula Julie Abdul (born June 19, 1962) is an American recording artist, dancer, choreographer, actress and television personality.
In the 1980s, Abdul rose from cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers to highly sought-after choreographer at the height of the music video era before scoring a string of pop music-R&B hits in the late-1980s and early-1990s. Her six number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 tie her for fifth among the female solo performers who have reached 1 there. She won a Grammy for "Best Music Video - Short Form" for "Opposite Attract" and twice won the "Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography".

Paula Abdul
Paula Abdul grew up in the San Fernando Valley, California. She began taking dance lessons when she was eight. She attended Van Nuys High School, where she was senior class president and head cheerleader. After graduating in 1980, she started college at Cal State-Northridge, majoring in TV and radio. After joining the L.A. Lakers cheerleaders, she became head cheerleader/choreographer after only a few months, eventually dropping out of college to dance and choreograph full-time. She was recruited by The Jacksons to choreograph their 1984 "Torture" video, the first in a long list of videos and movies she would choreograph. She branched out into singing with her first CD, "Forever Your Girl", which had lackluster sales until the single "Straight Up" exploded onto the charts in December 1988 and she has been a popular singer/dancer ever since, enhanced by her stint as a judge on the hit series "American Idol" (2002).

Smart phone

A smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary feature phone. Smartphones and feature phones may be thought of as handheld computers integrated with a mobile telephone, but while most feature phones are able to run applications based on platforms such as Java ME, a smartphone allows the user to run and preemptively multitask applications that are native to the underlying hardware. Smartphones run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers. Thus, they combine the functions of a camera phone and a personal digital assistant (PDA).
In 2007, Apple Inc. introduced its first iPhone. It was initially costly, priced at $500 for the cheaper of two models on top of a two year contract. Initially lacking the capability to execute and multitask native applications, many reviewers considered originally released device to be more akin to a featurephone than a smartphone. It was one of the first mobile phones to be mainly controlled through a touchscreen, the others being the LG Prada and the HTC Touch (also released in 2007). It was the first mobile phone to use a multi-touch interface, and it featured a web browser that Ars Technica then described as "far superior" to anything offered by that of its competitors. A process called jailbreaking emerged quickly to provide unofficial third-party applications. Steve Jobs publicly stated that the iPhone lacked 3G support due to the immaturity, power use, and physical size requirements of 3G chipsets at the time.
You're intelligent enough to know that carrying around a cell phone and a PDA is inefficient. Lighten your load by picking up an all-in-one device. Whether you use it as an organizer, an e-mail device, a cell phone, or all of the above, getting a smartphone is a smart move. Here are our top five picks for these phone-PDA hybrids; we've picked one from each major carrier, as well as one unlocked smartphone. This list will be updated regularly, so sign up for our Mobile Weekly newsletter.

Solar Panel Information

Solar Panels

Solar panels (arrays of photvoltaic cells) make use of renewable energy from the sun, and are a clean and environmentally sound means of collecting solar energy. Here at solar panel information, we've amassed a wealth of information relating to solar panels and the field of photovoltaic technology. You can learn how solar panels work, how they are manufactured, where to buy them, and how to set them up. If you are looking for information on solar panels and don't know where to start, check out our solar panels section to learn more about how these photovoltaic cells are derived from silicon and what solar energy means to you.
"Grid-tied" residential solar power systems connect directly into your electric company's power grid. During the day, your solar power system is generating electricity that is directed onto the main grid, sort of like a small power station.
Then at night, you simply draw whatever power you need right back off the grid. The electricity you generated (or saved) during the day for others to use will be paid back to you in the evenings when lighting and other electrical loads are needed.
how to work it
If your system is of sufficient size and produces more power during the day than you use in the evenings, you may actually end up with a surplus of electricity. In this case, many electric companies offer a program which is commonly known as "net metering" wherein, if your system produces more than you use, you will be paid a pre-determined amount of money for each kilowatt hour your system produces. Yes! You could actually get a check from your power company instead of sending them one!
Although these larger panels aren't as common as solar-powered calculators, they're out there and not that hard to spot if you know where to look. In fact, photovoltaics -- which were once used almost exclusively in space, powering satellites' electrical systems as far back as 1958 -- are being used more and more in less exotic ways. The technology continues to pop up in new devices all the time, from sunglasses to electric vehicle charging stations.
